Why study Kokama­Kokamilla?  The grammatical description offered here is based on uniquely reliable text data which, per se, constitutes a repository of traditional knowledge.  Payne ed.  This is likely to be the case of KK.  By doing so, it will ultimately contribute to have a better picture of the linguistic ecology in this area of the Amazon, and to shed some light in the history behind these groups.  Although the analysis provided in this document is essentially qualitative, some mentions of the frequency with which a given construction or a phenomenon occurs in the data are given at relevant points.
